Uncharted 4 PS4 fears in 2014, new evidence

If you still had any hopes that the Uncharted 4 PS4 release date would land in 2014, we have some new evidence to suggest that this hope may be doubtful. Naughty Dog knows they have a winner on their hands, but they may be set to make fans wait until 2015 to play the game.

Since the initial teaser trailer released for the game, Naughty Dog has practically been silent with regards to Uncharted 4 news updates. We told you here that a 2014 release would be unanticipated, but now it looks like it may not be happening at all.

Although we perhaps shouldn’t read too much into this, just take a look at what Naughty Dog’s community strategist Eric Monacelli replied to a user on the PS Blog.

He was asked if we would see Uncharted 4 on PS4 in 2014 and/or a The Last of Us GOTY in 2014 as well. We’ve captured a screenshot of his response:

Doubts confirmed?
Doubts confirmed?

The obvious question to ask, is whether he is doubtful on Uncharted 4 in 2014, or doubtful about a Game of the Year The Last of Us releasing this year.

Either way, it should be a firm reminder to not get your hopes up on seeing the game in 2014. There’s probably a big reason why we have seen so little of the game since its announcement – it’s likely just not ready yet.

Give us your thoughts on this. Would you have a problem with waiting until 2015 to play Uncharted 4 on PS4 or not? Developers need time to polish a product – we’ve all seen the consequences of launching a high profile game that simply wasn’t ready to release.
