There is hundreds of reports being directed to us from PlayStation console owners after they are unable to connect to the PSN server. This is the error message they are seeing when playing Destiny on PS4 and PS3, although it was expected considering PSN was due to go down today for maintenance.
The first reports landed on popular PSN status website, Down Today, which as we write this article continues to receive reports in regard to being “unable to connect to PSN”. As we mentioned above, there’s 6 hours of maintenance planned for November 17th that some people didn’t know about and this is why certain games are not working online.
Other PS3 and PS4 owners explain they’re told to “please check your network connection and PSN status”, or told “expansion content appears to be damaged or missing” in Destiny. This is due to the connection problems with PSN while it’s down for scheduled maintenance.
One Product Reviews reader said, “I’m unable to connect to PSN in Canada”. Another added, “Unable to connect to PSN, is the message I see in Europe”. These messages were expected today thanks to the work Sony is carrying out with the PlayStation Network, but it seems some people didn’t get the message and wonder why they are getting these errors.
Did you know that PSN was going down for maintenance today and if not, what error codes are you seeing and how did it change your plans today?
