Ultra Street Fighter 4 new characters for 2014 update

We have just dropped some new details for Killer Instinct during EVO 2013, but now it is time for some massive news for Street Fighter fanatics across the globe. Capcom has just used the event in Las Vegas to show off the very first trailer for Ultra Street Fighter IV. It will be coming in 2014 and will feature five new characters, including one who is completely new to the series.

Just when you thought Capcom couldn’t squeeze any more life out of Street Fighter IV, the developer has surprised (or not) everyone yet again by revealing Ultra Street Fighter IV to the world. The game adds Rolento, Elena, Hugo and Poison to the game, along with a mystery fifth character who hasn’t appeared in any Street Fighter game so far and remains a secret for now.

The game will include all costume DLC that has been released to date from the many iterations, while Capcom confirms six brand new stages to play on as well. Perhaps more importantly for professionals, the Ultra update will also add some key rebalancing tweaks to several characters – details of which you can find over at Capcom’s blog.

As for price, you will be able to buy this at full retail for $40 sometime in 2014. However, those with an existing copy of the game can upgrade to the Ultra edition for $15 as a DLC purchase. Capcom has already said that they want to release the game during the early stage of 2014, so let’s hope we’ll have a release date for you soon.

Enjoy the first trailer above and let us know your initial impressions on Ultra Street Fighter 4. Who do you want / expect the mystery 5th character to be? Are Capcom overdoing it now or not?
