Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3: iPhone Gameplay – Disappointing

We have just the thing for you if you are planning on picking up the recently announced Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for iOS from the Apple Store, as we have a few gameplay videos for you to take a look at.

As soon as you see the name, ”Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3” on the App store, you are probably thinking that this is a must buy, but there’s a few things which you should take into consideration.

We’ve seen the game up close and personal, and our view is that it’s not really worth the $6.99 that EA – yes EA, are asking for. First of all, you’ll see that a good chunk of the original UMK3 roster are missing, as the likes of Kabal, Shang Tsung, Cryax, Sektor and Smoke are nowhere to be seen.

Then we come to the graphics. The game’s description on the App Store reveals that the iOS version has revamped graphics to suit the Retina Display on the iPhone 4, but to be perfectly honest, the old style is a lot better than this 3D-ish mess.

Also gone is the classic fatality music, as you’ll see in the videos provided below. We don’t get that classic ‘DUN DUN DUN’ before the fatality, only after the fatality, and the announcer doesnt even say ‘Sub Zero wins, Fatality’ – all key ingredients of the game in our opinion.

There are lots of problems with the game here, problems which are probably best reserved for a review which we’ll be writing up soon. For now, check out the gameplay videos for yourself and let us know your thoughts on the game. Have you already bought it? – Do you regret it already?
