Ubuntu 13.10 for Nexus 7 tablet

The latest version of Ubuntu is said to be the best version yet, although this comes as no surprise to us. We say this because the changes made are extensive, although there are still one or two areas that could do with a tweak, such as the over reliance on search.

We have already given you a look at Ubuntu Touch working on the Nexus 10 and Xperia tablets, along with an in-depth review. However, some of you may have been wondering what Ubuntu 13.10 for the Nexus 7 tablet is like, and so we have located a review for you.

Ubuntu 13.10 features many new changes, which work rather well on the old Nexus 7, and is said to be an even better alternative than Android, although we will let you draw your own conclusions on that one.

This is the first official release of Ubuntu Touch and has been tested on a Nexus 7 for the past few days, where he proceeded to use it as his main tablet. Some of you will worry about installing this on your device, but we are told that it is easy and painless.

Ubuntu Touch boot times on the Nexus 7 are rather impressive, but we would like to see it running on the 2013 model.

Using Ubuntu on the Nexus 7 at all times is something the reviewer would not consider just yet, this is because there are still a few issues to resolve. However, given a few tweaks this will be a great alternative to Android.
