UbiSlate 7Ci tablet gets US release date in 2014

Earlier on this week we told you about another new entry in the cheap tablets war, the UbiSlate 7Ci tablet which will cost an incredible £30 to buy in the UK. Now, we have new information to give you, including a confirmation that the UbiSlate 7Ci will definitely have a US release date in 2014.

This tablet is getting everyone talking at the moment, especially when you consider the $499 that Apple charges consumers for the iPad Air. For a staggering $38 though, you’ll be able to buy a 7-inch tablet in 2014 that comes with Android 4.0, a 1Ghz Cortex A8 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage memory and the option of expanding this to 32GB with MicroSD card.

That is unbelievable when you think about it. You may think the Nexus 7 2013 is incredibly cheap at $230, but DataWind has really sent shockwaves through the tablet space with this $38 effort. Just imagine when we see upgraded models come out, with quad-core processors but still at a price that is below $100.

If Apple were not looking to see what is happening with their competitors, you bet that they will be now. Will rival manufacturers be forced to lower their tablet prices in 2014, after seeing this $38 tablet that will go on sale in the US next year?

Either way, it can only be good news for the consumer – give us your reaction to this as we await the US release date.
