Twitter To Link Service With Apple’s Social Network – Ping

You may or may not of heard of Apple’s new social network Ping, that aims more towards the music community but I know you have heard of Twitter, who said today that the two would be linking up to bring more music to the masses.

Ping was announced by Apple Inc in September and with Twitter coming on board today, 175million+ users can now connect their accounts to Ping. Once connected, Twitter users can then “tweet” song previews and links that take others directly to iTunes to purchase the song they tweeted about.

For those of you that are unsure what Ping is — it is a new social networking service that allows users to follow selected artists and also recommend these artists and songs to their followers and friends within their network.

Although this is great news for Twitter users, you might not have been so lucky if it wasn’t for Facebook who got offered the Ping service first but were unable to strike up a deal with Apple for Ping.

Have you linked up Ping and Twitter yet? How is it going for you?
