Twitter for BlackBerry: Beta release in a few hours

We have some great news for BlackBerry owners now, as the public beta for the official Twitter application will be available to try out, in a matter of hours – according to RIM.

As reported from BGR, Twitter for BlackBerry will be available from 9pm ET. When that time lands, you should be able to see the application appear in the AppWorld.

What can you expect from the app though? Well RIM has outlined some of the main features. These include a notification system, Twitter Lists Functionality, Profile Editing, Avatar viewing and more.

Judging by the App log, it looks as if RIM has really spent a good deal of time getting this ready for public release. Let us know if you’ll be trying out the beta. Not long to go now!
