If you are a gamer that enjoys watching speed run of games, you are going to want to hear about Twitch’s AGDQ 2014 schedule. A marathon is now underway, with gamers posting speed runs of varying games, all for the cause of raising money for cancer research.
AGDQ stands for Awesome Games Done Quick, and is a charity event hosted by members of Speed Runs Live and Speed Demos Archive and runs every year.
The goal is simple: members of the team will play through 115 games over a course of 7 days and attempt to break records. Those watching the Twitch.tv AGDQ stream can then choose to donate via Paypal if they feel like giving to a good cause.
Those who donate will be able to win prizes, with the ultimate goal being to reach $500,000 raised before the deadline. It’s a great initiative we feel and has gathered great momentum and feedback via social networks.

Watch the archive stream below to get a taster of how it works, with one crazy gamer playing through a speed run of classic racer F-Zero. You can also see a live running chat with other Twitch viewers to participate in the debate if you want to.
What are your thoughts on this year’s Twitch ADGQ event – will you donate to a good cause or not?
