Turn iPhone Into a Webcam: iWebcamera 2.0

An application which will turn your iPhone into a real driver based webcamera has just been updated. iWebcamera 2.0 now has full support for the iPhone 4 including the Retina display graphics, and is also available for the fourth generation of iPod Touch.

Released by drahtwerk the app allows the iPhone to be used in applications like Skype, YouTube, Windows Live Messenger, and other webcamera enabled desktop applications. The new version of the app is a complete rewrite of the original, and makes use of the new APIs introduced with iOS 4.0.

Other features of the app include support for both of the iPhone 4 cameras, built-in manual, Instant-Pause mode, and much more. Plug and play allows for instant connection once the drivers are installed. It is compatible with Windows 7, XP, Vista, and Apple’s Leopard and Snow Leopard. You can even turn your face blue with the YouBlue option.

iWebcamera 2.0 is available on the App Store for $4.99 for a limited time, and is a free update for users of iWebcamera 1.0. Requires iPhone 3G, GS, 4 and iPod Touch 4G with iOS 4.0 or later required
