Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark reviews are poor

As most of you will be well aware, Transformers 4 is out in the cinemas at the moment and it usually means that a game is out too. This time, the game is Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark, which acts as a prequel to the last Transformers game and also a sequel to the movie Transformers: Age of Extinction.

As you can imagine, everybody is wanting to know if the game is as good as the movie or at least, if the game is on par with the last effort from High Moon Studios who are not developing Rise of the Dark Spark.

Unfortunately, it looks like the answer to the latter question is no as early feedback has revealed poor review scores that are coming in for the game. High Moon Studios delivered a great game with Transformers Fall of Cybertron, but it looks like this game, developed by Edge of Reality has come up lacking.

We can see that IGN have scored the game a 4.9/10 only, saying that the game is ‘All Sparked Out’ and concluding with the following damning verdict:

“A good Transformers game has good transforming and good robot-blasting. Rise of the Dark Spark has neither.”

Meanwhile, Gamespot has had a similar conclusion on the game by giving Rise of the Dark Spark a 4/10 and saying that the game is a “cheap knockoff”, rather than a proper Transformers game and that Optimus Prime deserves better – ouch.

For those of you who were planning to get the game, are you disappointed about what the critics are saying so far? Transformers is one of those franchises were if the game was done right – it could be amazing with an open-world environment like Skyrim.

Sadly, it looks like we are still waiting for that game. Let us know if you still plan to buy it or if you will take the verdict from critics and avoid.
