Toyota Pedal Recall: Lexus, Prius Problems and Lawsuit In Canada

The Toyota pedal recall has helped the world’s largest automaker receive a lot of stick over the last week, and this heat is not going away anytime soon. Business Week is reporting that Toyota Canada is being sued by a number of Lexus HS250h and Toyota Prius owners.

The class-action case is focusing on problems with the braking system of the above Toyota / Lexus hybrid vehicles. Merchant Law Group filed the claim in Victoria, British Columbia. The claimants’ say the braking systems are defectively designed, and this is because of their “energy reclaiming nature”.

Business Week continue to report that Toyota has at least 30 group, or class-action lawsuits in Canada and the United States, which are connected to the multiple recalls due to sudden vehicle acceleration. The hybrid lawsuit in Canada is apparently not connected to these cases.
