TMG TS-650 for Toyota performance

TMG has been part of Toyota Motorsport since the 70s and for years questions have been asked if they could tune a road car for Toyota. We say this because they could become what AMG is to Mercedes, and we might have the answer for you in a new video.

Tuners TMG has taken a Lexus LS460 stripped it down and took it back to its bare bones and then rebuilt it. The new tuned Lexus has been given the review treatment with a test drive on a racetrack, and the sound of it coming into frame and out again does get your heart pumping.

The first on board shots are like staring at a pair of dragon nostrils ready to spew fire out at any time. The TMG TS-650, which is what the LS460 has become is a different beast, most parts of the original vehicle has been changed, such as the engine, bodywork, but the most impressive upgrade are those brakes from the LFA.

Power is improved, as is the handling all thanks to bigger tires and uprated suspension. While the TS-650 is awesome while on the track, you can select Comfort Mode and the vehicle will drive almost as well as any normal Lexus.

Going back to that performance, the TS-650 does live up to those expectations and will give some super cars a run for their money, a 0.60 mph time in less than 4 second and a top speed of 200 mph are impressive, but these figures could alter because the vehicle has not been fully shaken down — like to see Stig get his hands on this.

If this vehicle is anything to go by then we do hope Toyota allows TMG to get to work on sales Lexus models, because it would be a welcome addition to the market just as AMG and M are.
