Titanfall gameplay shows COD influences

With the first person shooter space clearly devoted to promoting Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts at the moment, you may have forgotten that another massive shooter is set to debut in 2014. That game is called Titanfall and it was recently the subject of a new 20-minute presentation at the EB Games Expo in Australia.

Titanfall is considered to be the next step up in the next-generation of first person shooters and we have some gameplay for you to watch now to give you a reminder of this. The sad thing is, is that Titanfall remains exclusive to Microsoft, meaning that it will only see a release on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC – no PlayStation release will happen at all.

If you thought Battlefield 4 was looking impressive in the graphics department, you may be surprised to see that Titanfall could be a game that will rival DICE for the best shooter graphics in 2014. Titanfall looks stunning, although we imagine the gameplay shown here at the end of the video above is pre-made footage running on the PC – we really want to see what the game looks like on Xbox 360 and Xbox One to really get an idea.

If Titanfall is definitely on your shopping list in 2014, you will want to check out the whole 20 minute clip above. Gameplay starts at around the 11 minute mark, but be warned that some of you may have already seen the same clip at GamesCom in August.

Has Titanfall impressed you so far or not?

Upon watching the footage, you should immediately see some Call of Duty influences in there, which we guess is almost unavoidable given the game is coming from the creators of Modern Warfare before they jumped ship to Respawn Entertainment.

Take a look at the footage if you haven’t seen it and let us know if you can see the COD influences as well. Do you agree that Titanfall is the ‘next step up’ in shooters and can potentially challenge BF4 over graphical bragging rights?
