The Open Championship 2010: Official iPhone App

Today see’s the start of the 2010 Open Championship at the St Andrews course in Scotland, and fans across the world can keep up to date with all the news as it happens via the official iPhone application.

This year The Open Championship is celebrating its 150th anniversary and the app has been designed to bring fans even closer to the action and is available for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad.

Released by R&A the application has live weather conditions at the course, live leader board updates, player profiles and stats are accompanied by ‘LiveCast’. During play fans can watch the action with the live video stream from holes 9, 10 and 11.

If the LiveCast is not available where fans might be they can listen to the Radio Opengolf which is included in the application and broadcast live from the Old Course at St Andrews. The app has had iOS 4 compatibility issues fixed, and problems with the app not starting on some devices have been addressed.

The Open Championship 2010 is available free on the App Store. Compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad with OS 3.1.3 or later.
