The Last of Us Remastered a true 1080p upgrade

If you are not hyped for the release of The Last of Us Remastered yet, some comments in the build-up to launch have attempted to persuade you that the upgrade is more than well worth it.

Naughty Dog has been working on the PS4 upgrade, promising that the next-gen version will offer a boost up to 1080p native and 60FPS as a main feature. Now, we have heard from some of the employees working on the game that The Last of Us Remastered looks incredible suggesting that it could be the next game to truly define next-generation graphics.

The first comment comes from Naughty Dog’s graphics programmer Ramy El Garawany who has revealed that it is ‘hard to describe’ how good the game is looking at 1080p and 60FPS.

Next up is Drew Thaler, another of Naughty Dog’s developers. He has said that the Remastered version has taken up almost all of the 8GB RAM allowance to make the game faster than the PS3 version, even going as far to say that the game looks ‘so damn good’.

In terms of HD upgrades, this could be one of the best examples that we’ll see this year. We all know Naughty Dog do not mess around when it comes to quality, so you may want to consider picking up the Remastered version when it launches on July 29.

What are you thoughts on this: Should other developers take note when performing their own PS3 to PS4 conversions and use Naughty Dog as the benchmark?
