The Last of Us 2 with new hope

While some of you may be looking forward to the Uncharted 4 release date, we shouldn’t forget that there is also a chance of The Last of Us 2 releasing in the near future as well. Given the success of the first game, many fans would expect this to happen as a certainty.

This week though, we bring you some actual The Last of Us 2 news from Naughty Dog suggesting that this could be a firm reality rather than myth. The famed developer has been speaking on Reddit and naturally when asked if a sequel was on the way, there was a very pleasing and interesting response.

During a traditional Reddit Ask Me Anything, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley were asked a vast amount of questions in a heavy online session.

Perhaps the most exciting answer to come out of the event though, was when Naughty Dog were specifically asked for details on the next The Last of Us game, as you’ll see below:

“If you’re asking about a sequel… right now I’d say it’s 50/50”

That quote above was from Duckmann, but not to be outdone, Bruce Straley also dropped a fairly big bomb when asked what the team were currently working on:

“We’re working on the 3rd DLC drop for MP right now! …and maybe something else… we’ll see. ;)”

You can read through the whole thread here, it’s well worth your time if you are a fan of Naughty Dog as there’s even more teasers from the team.

Considering that it is 50/50 at the moment, we would say that it is up to you the fans to make your voices heard and let Naughty Dog know that the demand for a sequel is sky high – on PS4 of course this time.

Give us your thoughts on The Last of Us 2 and what ideas you would have for a potential The Last of Us 2 storyline.
