February 14 is a special date for all you lovers out there, but also if you currently own The Last of Us because it is also the day the Left Behind DLC goes live. However, you will need to make sure you get as much as you can from the new content because there won’t be any more, or at lest any story driven DLC.
Before you start to complain about no more new story content after this, Naughty Dog has stressed that The Last of Us: Left Behind is substantial in size and so should keep you occupied for a while.
This is good news in a way, but what happens once you complete the new content, then what? The Last of Us owners had assumed to have support for much longer than this and so this will make them crave a sequel.
The game has taken the hearts of Naughty Dog fans and they have already started thinking about The Last of Us 2, although it is rather obvious that this is a long way off. If we are to go by NG’s track record then a sequel will not be with us until June 2015 at least.
However, this could stretch the developer because we know they are already working on Uncharted 4, which might not be released until 2015.
What this means for The Last of Us 2 — Naughty Dog hasn’t ruled out a sequel but they have said all of their effort has gone into the upcoming DLC, then moving on to improving its engine for the PS4 and working hard on a new Uncharted game. This does put a huge question mark over TLOS 2 because it could be at least 2 or 3 years down the line.
We can’t say for certain how long the new content will last because it depends on various factors, such as your difficulty level and how good you are playing the game. However, once you have completed the game this will then give you a better idea as to where the franchise can go next.
Even before you get to that stage ideas have been coming in think and fast and we already have a good idea of what you want to see with The Last of Us 2. Some of the ideas include a story that does not feature Joel and Ellie, a new batch of characters, improvements to the UI, expanding the crafting to name but a few.
The Last of Us has proven the hit that we expected and will be a sad day once the DLC has been completed by gamers, but will you be looking ahead to Uncharted 4 or would you rather a sequel to TLOS?
