The Crew companion app release adds yet more problems

The Crew was released a couple of days ago, but players were upset to learn the release of its companion app was to be delayed until early next year. This is a blow and yet another example of the poor execution of this game, as the problems just keep mounting up.

We can’t help feel that the number of issues with The Crew and the delay of the official app will put people off. Some of our readers have already been in touch to say they have cancelled their pre-orders and they have no intention of ever bothering with the game, even when The Crew companion app gets released.

To rub salt into the wounds for those that have already bought the game, they can see a section on the rear cover talking about the app and what its features are to help bring a better experience to the title. You can see an image of this below thanks to VideoGamer.

The Crew companion app release

Ubisoft and Ivory Tower have yet to offer a specific release date, just that it will be early 2015. One thing we can say, if Ubisoft wanted this to be the cornerstone of its new racing franchise, then they have failed terribly.

What with delays and not allowing reviews to be released until the game hits the market, one has to wonder if there will actually be many people playing The Crew when the app is finally released?
