Thanksgiving 2013 at Best Buy versus dinner

It seems that Best Buy want you to spend Thanksgiving 2013 in store rather than having dinner with friends and family. While they won’t force you into your local Best Buy store on Thanksgiving, it seems this year they want to start sales much earlier than usual to hopefully drive profits higher.

One Black Friday Ads website reports that the opening hours this year for Best Buy includes their doorbuster deals starting at 6PM on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 28. This information was sourced from an official press statement that Best Buy released to the media, and within that article they explain more than 1,000 stores will start doorbusters the day before Black Friday.

You can read the full press statement on Best Buy, but what we would love to know from Product Reviews readers is if you will change your plans and head to Best Buy on Thanksgiving 2013? This might have been a time when you was planning a special dinner in 2012, but this year you can count on some people trying to get one of the limited stock TVs, tablets or other doorbuster deals before others.

It is worth noting that BFAds.co.uk also featured a news story about Kmart workers and how a few commented on the need to work longer hours this year, which is thanks to their employer extending opening hours from Thanksgiving Day.
