Tesla Model S recall prospect update

It’s been more than a month since the first Tesla Model S fire, and in that time we have been witness to what can only be described as a witch-hunt. It’s a real shame because the EV has shown real promise, and due to a handful of issues there are those out there who would have you believe that these vehicles are unsafe and should be avoided at all costs.

Thankfully, not all of us believe the bad press and as such still believe the Model S to be safe and reliable cars. So it comes as no shock that the CEO of Tesla Motors has updated us on the situation and said there is to be no recall for the Model S.

The NHSTA did not seem concerned either; as they also said there is no need for a Tesla Model S recall. The government safety body has said that there is no evidence to suggest that these vehicles are unsafe, and as such has decided not to step in and demand more safety tests.

We can understand that some of you will still have concerns because seeing a car set alight on three separate occasions is enough to concern anyone. However, with Tesla and the NHTSA saying there is no need to worry, just remember that these vehicles are far less likely to been involved in a fire when compared to as standard vehicle that carries tens of gallons of gasoline at all times.

However, Elon Musk should not get too complacent because if there are two or three more fires, then this will be a sure way to see the NHTSA launch an investigation.

Thanks to Bloomberg.
