Tekken X Street Fighter: PS Vita release excitement

We have some exciting news for future PS Vita owners now, as further goodness may be on the way to you at the end of the year. Tekken X Street Fighter has been confirmed for consoles already, but we could be seeing the game on Sony’s new handheld system as well.

If you are a fan of both franchises, you’ll know that Tekken X Street Fighter remains shrouded in mystery at the moment, presumably due to Namco’s preference to let Capcom market and release Street Fighter X Tekken first, before switching attentions to their version of the exciting crossover mashup.

Street Fighter X Tekken has already been confirmed for the PS Vita of course, and it is pretty exciting for Vita owners too, as they’ll be getting a version with exclusive features not found on the console versions, such as the ability to play as inFAMOUS character Cole MacGrath as one prime example. It only seems natural for a Vita version of Tekken X Street Fighter to follow as well, but until now we have heard no word of it.

There’s always light at the end of the tunnel though, just check out this Tweet from Namco producer Katsuhiro Harada when quizzed on if the Vita will be getting the game or not:

”I’m considering now RT @IXIbodyOFsinIXI is TEKKEN X STREET FIGHTER going to be on ps vita?”

If you played Tekken 5: DR on the PSP, you’ll know just how great fighting games can turn out to be on Sony’s handheld. Street Fighter X Tekken is obviously going to be very popular when it comes out later in the year and we have a feeling that Tekken X Street Fighter may even turn out to be more popular if a Vita version does materialize.

For now, we would love to see how the console version is coming along – a trailer or even a single gameplay screenshot would be lovely Namco. If you are planning on picking up Street Fighter X Tekken on the Vita, let us know your thoughts on the possibility of Namco’s crossover coming to the Vita as well.
