The T-Mobile G2 has only just hit the market, but now we can confirm that the handset has been successfully rooted. We have the download links and a full tutorial guide for those that are interested.
As reported from Phandroid, it will be no surprise to hear that the root has been accomplished by members of the XDA-Developers Forums.
While the root has been confirmed to be working, it has been tagged as a ‘temporary root’, since there is one major problem after completing the problem – you can’t reboot your G2. If you do, you’ll find out that the root method has disappeared, so for now, just don’t reboot.
It is not really a serious problem though, as this is very likely to be sorted pretty soon. If you are interested in rooting your T-Mobile G2, you can find download links and instructions here.
Let us know if it worked for you.
