T-Mobile G2 Release: Pre-order yours today

The time is almost here for T-mobile to begin shipping their new G2 smartphone from HTC. For those who are already T-mobile customers, you can pre-order the new Android handset today, while new customers will have to wait until October 6, 2010.

The pre-order page did not get off to a great start, as it suffered a few issues — much like Facebook did yesterday then. However, the page is now working fine and is ready to receive your pre-order.

The price for the new HTC G2 is $249.99 for those ordering now. However, there is also a $50 mail-in rebate to take off that price. Vlad Savov from Engadget reports that Radio Shack will be offering the handset for just $150, we will have to wait and see if there is any truth to that.

An Engadget reader said that he was giving a shipping date of September 30th, that’s just under a week away. Will you be purchasing the T-mobile G2 early or wait for the Radio Shack deal?
