Syndicate co-op screens and weapons trailer unleashed

One of the most anticipated games for 2012 so far is Syndicate, an FPS remake of the tactical shooter from 1993. We recently brought you news of some of the game’s details that have emerged, as well as information concerning the platforms it will appear on and the confirmation of an exact release date for it. Today we have news of a trailer that has been launched giving us a glimpse of some of the many awesome weapons that will feature in the game.

There are a total of 19 weapons that players will have at their disposal. This collection of arsenal includes 25 possible upgrades and 87 attachments as explained in the trailer which can be viewed below. The video also displays some examples of both ranged combat and close quarters combat, from which you can get an idea of which weapons are suitable for each situation.

When the game was announced back in September, publisher EA said the aim of launching this new version of Syndicate is to appeal to fans of the original game and at the same time ‘to provide a challenging action shooter for today’s gamers.’ Next year’s version is being developed by Starbreeze Studios, the team that brought us The Darkness as well as The Chronicles of Riddick titles; Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena.

As well as this new weapons trailer, EA has also launched some screenshots which include gameplay images from the single player campaign as well as several from the co-op mode. If you would like to see all the images that have been released for the upcoming game so far, head on over to VG24/7. You can also watch the full clip of the weapons trailer below.
