Surface and Pro 2 availability, low Christmas stock concerns

Do you remember when the first Surface device ran out of stock people had assumed it was some sort of marketing ploy on behalf of Microsoft to make it seem more popular than it was, well it has happened again, but this time for the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2.

We have a completely different situation this time because these devices are far more popular than their predecessors and because we have entered the final push ahead of the holiday season, there is certain to be stock issues, or so we assume.

The Microsoft Surface 2 and Pro 2 availability right now is slim to none on the online Microsoft Store and several third-party online retail stores, and with such low stock the chances of getting one before Christmas does not look good at all.

Surface and Pro 2 availability

Having had a look on the UK store, it seems as though there are no such stock issues, and so it seems that consumers in the US might be out of luck getting a Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 this side of Christmas, unless you manage to find a retailer with a decent amount of stock.

It comes as no surprise that some consumers have taken to social media channels to air their frustrations at not being able to get a new Surface device, with questions being asked if Microsoft had enough units in the first place, or if they were just too popular that they were unable to keep up with demand?

Do you think it is time once again for the conspiracy theories?
