Super Smash Bros update with Sonic gameplay

We have some great news for Super Smash Bros fans now, especially those who are definitely considering picking up the upcoming game on either Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. After the exciting reveal of Mega Man, we can now confirm the next major character that will be joining the roster – none other than everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog Sonic.

SEGA’s iconic character will be guest starring in the next Smash Bros game and Nintendo has now released a fantastic gameplay trailer to show you some of the new moves that Sonic will have at his disposal – whilst at the same time giving you a solid look at his character design on the Wii U.

He looks fantastic we have to say and is easily going to be one of the new favorites to use in the whole roster. Fans had initially been concerned that Nintendo wouldn’t be able to add many third-party characters in the game after Mega Man, but we doubt there will be any complaints whatsoever that Sonic is coming to the game.

With Smash Bros yet to receive a release date, let’s hope that there is still plenty of time for Nintendo to reveal some more third-party characters to the game – Sonic was perhaps not on the same surprise level as Mega Man given his inclusion in Smash Bros Brawl.

We miss the days when you could choose from the likes of Solid Snake in the original Smash Bros on Wii. Nintendo could really win over a lot of supporters if they managed to secure the licenses to get some major additions to the game.

We’re talking about the likes of Cloud and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot from Naughty Dog or even TJ Combo and Fulgore from Rare’s Killer Instinct franchise. Imagine if we saw those kind of guys in the game victimizing various Pokemon.

That’s the kind of Super Smash Bros that would really ruffle a few feathers on Wii U and 3DS. Enjoy the Sonic gameplay above and let us know who you would like to see in the game.
