Subaru recall model list for Takata airbag issue

It looks like car giant Subaru is running into problems, as a Subaru 2014 recall has been issued affecting several models. The big issue at hand is faulty Subaru Takata airbags, which the manufacturer has installed on their motors.

We can now bring you a quick heads-up regarding a Subaru recall model list so you know which motors have been caught up in the mess and if you have to send your motor in for an inspection.

Subaru are recalling thousands of their motors including 8,600 Subaru Legacy cars, Outback wagons and Baja crossovers which were sold between 2003 and 2004.

Owners of the 2004 Subaru Impreza, WRX and WRX STI models are also affected by this recall. The exact problem at hand is caused by the Japanese-made Takata airbag inside the Subaru models listed above.

If the airbags on the passenger-side deploy in a crash, pressure could mount and cause the inflator inside to rupture. If that happens, it’s a serious health risk with metal shrapnel inside the inflator which can burst and cause injuries to passengers.

Subaru are not the only company caught up in the recall as Honda is also one of the biggest names that feature the same airbags as well. Let us know if you have a model listed above and if you have already taken action to get a replacement airbag or inflator.
