Streak Gmail extension for real-time notifications

When we looked through some Gmail alternatives last week we could see that some other email clients had several options that were not available with Gmail. However, with various extensions to choose from your inbox will never feel the same again.

The Streak Gmail extension comes packed with some very useful tools, with real-time notifications being the best of them. Before you get too excited, this extension can only be used with the Google Chrome browser, so no Gmail real-time notifications if you use Internet Explorer of Safari.

What makes Streak so good? Once you have installed Streak and you open your Gmail client with Google Chrome it will allow you to see when the recipient has opened the email you sent.

You will see an eye icon next to the email, which turns green once it has been read. The best part is that the recipient will not need to install Streak in order for you to use this option.

This free extension gets even better because you will also be ale to see where the recipient was when the email was opened. This real-time location within Gmail is a useful tool, but also a little disturbing.

We know that there are other services out there that do the same thing, but Streak for Gmail does it for free. Watching the various videos on the Streak website leads us to believe that this extension makes Gmail even better for business users thanks to its many options, such as scheduling emails, hiring, sharing emails to an entire company, sales and much more.

A word of advice — Streak is currently free because it is in beta, and so you had best make use of it now. However, once the development process is over developers will no doubt charge a small fee like rival Gmail extensions.
