Steve Jobs Unveils New iPad 2 at iPad event – First Official Photo

As we thought Apple has just unveiled the new second-generation iPad at today’s event, unsurprisingly this is called the iPad 2 and first-impressions are pretty promising

Engadget are at the event and have a liveblog which tells us exactly what is going on as it happens, the first sign of the iPad was a subtle one, basically there was a chair and table setup on stage, this was the case with the first iPad reveal, whilst most other Apple reveals are carried out standing up.

The first person on stage was Steve Jobs, who is meant to be taking medical leave, he explained “We’ve been working on this product for awhile, and I didn’t want to miss it”, initially he spoke about iBooks, however everyone knew that bigger news was on the way, after that he started to talk about post-PC products, he then spoke about the successful first-gen iPad, 15 minutes or so later the new iPad 2 was revealed.

We will be back later with all of the juicy details, at least we can now confirm that the iPad 2 is official and launching soon, check Product-Reviews later for all of the iPad 2 news.

Below we have embedded a photo showing iPad 2, this image comes courtesy of Engadget, apparently the white model is for AT&T customers and the black version is coming to Verizon.
