Since the tragic news a few days ago of the passing of the highly regarded Steve Jobs, we have heard people from all walks of life paying tribute to the great man. Whether you are an Apple fan or not, there is no denying under his leadership Apple has changed the way many of us communicate or listen to music. We recently told you about his biography that has seen preorders leap, and now Steve Jobs the movie could be made via Sony Pictures.
There are rumors that the company is in negotiations for the movie rights for the Steve Jobs biography, and according to Electronista may cost Sony between $1 million to $3 million for them. It is also thought any movie will be produced by Mark Gordon and Management 360, via the MG360 partnership.
The deal could still fall through and studios often buy movie rights if they are interested in a project, and decide later if it is to be made or not. Any such film would surely be successful considering the popularity of Steve Jobs. It would also be nice if whoever does decide to make a film about the man, they donate some of the likely profits to cancer research or another charity close to him.
Gordon could be a good candidate for the job as he recently produced a Richard Pryor biopic alongside blockbusters such as Saving Private Ryan. There may be some who criticize any move for the movie rights though so close to the former Apple CEO’s death.
The Isaacson biography will be the only one though that has some input from the great man himself, and any such film at least can be an accurate account of events. Sony may have already been in negotiations before the sad news broke the other day. Will you be purchasing the Steve Jobs Biography?
