Steve Jobs on Apple Tablet: iPhone not as important

With just two days until the Apple Press Event all eyes will be staring at the stage, in the hope that Steve Jobs will walk on. There have been reports that Jobs has already made a statement about the Apple Tablet PC saying, “This will be the most important thing I’ve ever done.” Even more than the iPhone

There is no official information that Jobs actually said this, but according to Tech Crunch, this has come from senior sources at Apple. Friends of Jobs as well as work colleagues have said that they have never seen him as exited as this before.

This does seem strange, he has given us so many great devices, such as the MacBook Air that I type on now and the Apple iPhone that has taken the cell phone market by storm. We have to wonder what makes the tablet device so special?

Tech Crunch wonders how Steve Jobs can think that the iPhone was just a warm up act. We cannot wait until the Apple Press Event now, the iSlate, iPad, iTablet or whatever you want to call it looks set to send Apple shares soaring.

Do you think the Apple Tablet will be more important than the iPhone?
