State of Decay Title Update for Xbox 360, PC status

It looks like there is a large amount of Xbox 360 owners who are currently loving the open world zombie game State of Decay. So much, that Microsoft has some good news to announce, with State of Decay officially becoming the fastest selling ‘original’ game in the history of Xbox Live Arcade.

As a result, Microsoft has announced that State of Decay has now passed the half a million downloads milestone, despite only going on sale since June 5 – very impressive for a supposed ‘small’ indie game. We had a feeling that State of Decay would become something special upon release, and now it looks like developers UndeadLabs are destined for bigger and better things with regards to future products.

If you picked up State of Decay on Xbox 360 and are still loving it, we have some good news for you. Jeff Strain from UndeadLabs has revealed that the first major Title Update will be going live for the game over this weekend. Furthermore, he has also revealed that the team are working on a sandbox mode for the game, which has been touted as a pure survival simulation experience, which will be coming to the game in due course.

While it’s obviously disappointing that there is no PC release yet, UndeadLabs has said that the game is nearly ready for a release, with just Steam integration one of the few remaining tasks left to complete, as well as keyboard and mouse support. Hopefully we’ll be able to bring you a solid PC release date soon.

What are your impressions of State of Decay so far, two weeks after release? Do you think it is fully worth the 1600 Microsoft Points asking price?
