Start Skyrim Dragonborn DLC in Windhelm

We’ve heard from a few Xbox 360 gamers having problems starting the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC, and while this might seem strange to some people it has happened before with Dawnguard. This had been thanks to certain gamers missing the tunnel that leads to Fort Dawnguard, although a few videos helped them start the first quest. If you want to know how to start the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC that landed on Xbox Live today, then you’ll find it much easier considering you’re directed to the Dragonborn DLC at almost any town.

One tip would be to take a trip to one of the towns where you’re liked, we visited one where we had some fun with guards and now regret it, but in a nutshell visiting most towns will start the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC. You’ll meet some guys in masks that once defeated allow you to see their orders, which reveals a note directing you to Windhelm. You can see this note in the image below, although you might want to go directly to Windhelm rather than another town to start the Dragonborn DLC.

You can see a couple of videos below this article that show you visually how to start the new Skyrim DLC in search of the original Dragonborn. The first video runs for just over 2 minutes and takes you to a town first, which is where they meet the masked men that hold the note seen above. The second video shows you how to start the Dragonborn DLC by traveling to Windhelm right away, and here you will go to the docks and talk to Gjalund Salt-Sage as seen in the image below.

He will offer you a “fair price” to travel to Solstheim on the Northern Maiden. After parting with 250 gold you will leave immediately to Solstheim and find yourself on the Northern Maiden, although you won’t have control over the camera when pulling into Raven Rock. Watch the second video below to see the first 13 minutes of the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC, and a walkthrough that shows you how to start it. You might want to see our article from yesterday that touched on the fact that Skyrim Dragonborn will release on the PS3 early in 2013, which is also the first DLC on Sony’s console.
