Starhawk Game: Warhawk Sequel Revealed – First Details Leaked

Back at the end of March, we provided our readers with a few rumored details for the upcoming sequel to the hugely popular Warhawk game, a multiplayer-only title that originally released exclusively for the PS3 back in 2007. At the time it was believed that the game would be titled Warhawk 2.

However, it has now come to light that the sequel is in fact called Starhawk, a name that some of you may have already heard mentioned. According to a recent article by Chris Hawke over at, the Starhawk game has now been made official, and they have the very first details.

A Sony employee, who for obvious reasons wished to stay anonymous, recently revealed that the Starhawk game is indeed real, and has been in development for a few years. It doesn’t look like fans will have to wait too long for the game’s official announcement either, as the date has been slated for mid May.

As expected the Starhawk game will remain a PlayStation 3 exclusive, but will only ship on Blu-ray disc instead of being released as a digital title. The main gameplay elements will remain much the same as the original Warhawk, but Starhawk will feature spaceships as well as APCs and jeeps.

Some of the maps will be set on planets, while others will take place in space. However, players will not be able to fly from a planet into space during games. Although the main body of the game is online multiplayer, the Starhawk title will feature a single player element as well.

Are you looking forward to the Warhawk sequel?
