A couple of weeks ago the very first details for the upcoming Starhawk game — the much-anticipated sequel of the hugely popular Warhawk title — were leaked online, courtesy of a Sony employee who wished to stay anonymous. It may have been a long time coming, but the game has now been officially confirmed.
What’s even more exciting is the fact that more details have now been unveiled. According to Mike Harradence over at psu.com, the Starhawk game is currently in development at Dylan Jobe’s Lightbox Interactive. As previously mentioned, the new game will feature both multiplayer and single-player.
The Starhawk title places you in the shoes of former Rift miner Emmet Graves, whose enemy this time if the Outcast — former humans that have been transformed into vicious creatures after being exposed to Rift energy. Graves’ main priority is to find his brother, the leader of the Outcasts.
New to the game is an RTS-style element known as “Build and Battle,” which will enable players to call down structures from orbit that can be placed on the battlefield. Starhawk’s multiplayer includes 32-player matches and 4-player online / offline co-op, as well as a bit of split-screen action.
It’s also said to include tournaments, leaderboards, clans, additional friends lists and quick matches. Do you like the sound of the new Starhawk game?
