Starbucks Sued For Hot Tea: Customer Suffers Second Degree Burns

We all know how painful it can be when you take a sip of your tea or coffee when it is too hot, however one recent Starbucks customer recently suffered second-degree burns thanks to a Starbucks tea which was unreasonably hot.

Quotes from the report suggest that the plaintiff suffered “great physical pain and mental anguish” after purchasing a cup of tea from Starbucks, details are scarce. I’m guessing the plaintiff suffered the burn on her hands, however this is unconfirmed.

The plaintiff stated that the tea was “unreasonably hot” and served “in containers which were not safe”, as you can imagine the press are predicting a large payout for the plaintiff.

Back in 1994 McDonald’s Corp were ordered to pay $2.86 million to Stella Liebeck, this was because Stella scalded herself with the restaurant’s coffee.
