Star Trek Online: Release on PS3, Xbox 360 is non-existant

We have some disappointing news for those of you waiting on a console release for MMO Star Trek Online, as a developer for the game has confirmed that this won’t be happening now.

As reported from VG247, the PC version of the game is now available to buy, with console versions expected later on this year, but developers Cryptic confirmed that the project is now pretty much over.

Executive Producer Craig Zinkievich had this to say on the news: ”As it stands right now it’s a little difficult to make that final leap on the business side of things. So, currently, just like Champions, the console version of Star Trek Online is on the back burner.”

This is pretty bad news for those of you who were really looking forward to the game. Looks like another console MMO has not managed to see the light of day on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

Give us your thoughts on this. So long Star Trek.
