Sprint Vital has appealing specs, not quite high-end

We have some news for Sprint customers now, especially those who are on the lookout for a brand new smartphone to buy in 2013. We have confirmation that a new device called the Sprint Vital is on the way, despite the US carrier actually yet to announce things in an official capacity.

Those of you looking for a new device on Sprint as an alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S4, may be set for a disappointment though. The Vital packs a gorgeous 5-inch HD display with a 13 megapixel camera, but lacks a quad-core processor which is now seen as a standard feature in all new ‘high-end’ devices.

It will instead come with a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM only, as opposed to 2GB of RAM which again is becoming a necessity for most consumers looking for a new phone. There is 8GB of internal storage, but this can be expanded with the use of MicroSD card.

On a more pleasing note though, there is a 2,500mAh battery on board, which should be more than enough juice to satisfy most consumers who burn through a lot of media usage and calls. As mentioned above, Sprint has yet to officially announce the Vital, but the guys over at Endgadget have already managed to get hold of an early promo highlighting the device.

Sprint are touting the 1.5Ghz dual-core processor as having ‘blazing speed’, but do you really need to see a quad-core processor on board before even considering making a purchase? We’ve included the video above so you can have an early preview. Don’t be surprised if we see this official before the end of the week.

Does the Sprint Vital appeal to you or not?
