Sprint outage today impacts mainly Texas

There’s a Sprint outage taking place today mainly in Texas, according to customers of Sprint that took to social networks and status update websites to report problems with phone calls. They haven’t been able to make calls, receive or send text, or use other data communication on a range of cell phones and tablets within Texas, USA.

We have heard directly from Product Reviews readers in relation to “no calls or text messages in The Woodlands”, “College station tx down on March 18”, and also another reader said “I cannot call or receive calls in Pearland, TX”. This is only a couple of emails we received and comments on older articles, although just looking at Twitter reveals hundreds of issues being reported in the last 30 minutes alone.

It’s not clear if this is all types of Sprint wireless and exactly the scope across Texas impacted, but it does look like a large area of the map at this time. We have reached out to Sprint to learn more and we will update this article with an official statement, or any official tweets as they arrive.

Have you found Sprint down today with your cellular phone or tablet and if so, what area of Texas are you located in? While we cannot confirm how far reaching the outage currently is, it is looking like statewide from the tweets and complaints being left at technology blogs.

Update: We can confirm this is a Texas statewide outage for Sprint, as many users are reporting from all areas. Take a look at one tweet above and again, share a comment with how this has impacted you today, or if in fact everything has returned to normal for you.
