A few days ago we told you that the next iPhone may arrive on the Sprint and T-Mobile networks when the device eventually gets released. Today we have some news that we could see a Sprint iPhone 5 following rumors from Apple jobs vacancies.
Josh Ong from AppleInsider is reporting that an Apple job listing has appeared that is located near to Sprints headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. This may just mean the company wants to have support at the carrier for a future iPhone.
This job in question was first listed for an engineer around twenty miles from Sprint’s headquarters, but since the story first broke has been changed to Apple’s own headquarters. The job listing say’s the engineer will be “responsible for day-to-day technical interactions with the one or more carriers to track down issues reported by the carrier.”
It requires the applicant to have knowledge and experience with CDMA, UMTS, Edge, and GSM/GPRS. Sprint has the second largest CDMA network in the country. When Apple ended the AT&T exclusivity with the iPhone and released the Verizon version, the company said the CDMA was not exclusive to Verizon.
This is just pure speculation for the time being, but customers of Sprint will be hoping the iPhone 5 does arrive on their network. Will you get the iPhone 5 on Sprint?
