Sprint HTC Hero: 2.1 Android Update – New Release Date

For those of you that are still interested, it looks like we finally have a solid release date for the HTC Hero update to Android 2.1. After all the delays though – are you still bothered about this?

As reported from Examiner, a fresh image leak from Best Buy has revealed that the update will be landing on May 7th – which is this Friday. You can read details from the image here to see for yourself.

You also should be aware that the 2.1 update won’t be available OTA. You’ll instead have to download it from the HTC website, but that shouldn’t be a problem for most of you.

No official word from Sprint or HTC yet, but this looks like the real thing guys. Let us know your thoughts on this. Any of you still desperate for the 2.1 update?
