Splinter Cell Conviction: Ubisoft warns of broken USB Keys

For those of you planning to pick up the US Collector’s Edition of Splinter Cell: Conviction, you may want to pay attention, as Ubisoft are warning gamers about a possible fault within the custom USB drive that comes with the game.

As reported from Eurogamer, Ubisoft has even gone as far to slashing $10 off the price of the game, meaning that you’ll be able to pick up the CE for $69.99 instead of $79.99.

But what good is a faulty USB drive to gamers – $10 won’t really make a difference if the thing does not work. However, Ubisoft states that this won’t affect ‘all’ drives, as most will be working fine.

If you do encounter a problem with it though, you’ll still be able to access the bonus content found on the USB key, via an online method which Ubisoft will be detailing soon.

What are your thoughts on this? It sounds a bit suspect to me. Game is due out tomorrow in the US.
