It seems like more and more classic games are getting revamped and re-released these days, what with the recent news of a Sega Mega Drive Classic Collection for the PC and the recent iOS release of the classic Sega title, Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master.
Now we have news that the Speedball 2: Evolution game — which will be available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch — has just been given an official release date and a teaser trailer. According to Robert Purchese at eurogamer.net, the game will be arriving on February 24th.
The Speedball 2: Evolution iOS revival has been developed by Vivid Games, but under the watchful eye of Tower Studios’ John Hare. Players will have the choice of two different control systems: touch-screen joystiq controls, or the new tilt-to-move option.
Speedball 2: Evolution also features a local multiplayer mode, which can be played via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. As noted over on the pocket-lint.com website, the app will also include features such as 22 achievements, a 10-season career mode, 10 single player game modes and Game Center support.
