The 2015 Chicago Auto Show opens its doors today and what makes this event so different to the likes of Detroit is the fact this is more for consumers, whereas the latter is geared towards CEOs of large car manufacturers. This is evident when it comes to the vehicles on show, as we don’t get to see all-new models, but rather Special Edition versions, as well as updated versions of current models.
Falling gas prices has allowed sales of trucks to peak over the past few months, although the price someone pays in the U.S. is still far less than their counterparts in the UK.
A fine example of this is the Special Edition trucks that will be on show at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The two models are the 2015 Ram Laramie Limited and the Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Express and Colorado GearOn Special Edition versions.
There are three versions of the 2015 Ram Laramie Limited to choose from, which are the light-duty 1500, the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 bodies. All three are for different needs, and so is proof you no longer have to have one of these if you are in construction, as the general public also enjoys these models.
What makes this Limited Edition model different to the standard models is its Natura Plus leather interior, which goes perfect with the Black Argento wood on its dash. The center stack has a huge amount of brightwork to help offset all that black and while the exterior carries on the dark menacing look, there is a few bits of chrome to add a bit of balance. More details on this model can be found on Car and Driver.
If the truck above is not for you because you are faithful to Chevy, then you can go for the Silverado Midnight Express or Colorado GearOn. There is not a great deal of custom work on these models, but you do get things such as 20-inch five-spoke wheels, extra chrome on the bumpers, door handles and mirror caps.
You will also get a 4.2-inch MyLink system, as well as other improved features, all of which can be found on Autoblog.
