When Sony announced the Xperia Z, it was clear they were back, as the design was ultra modern and sleek and the features (while not as impressive as the Galaxy S4) were rather impressive compared to their previous handsets. The icing on the cake as far as potential buyers were concerned was the fact that the Xperia Z could be dropped in water accidently or sustained dusty conditions and still is able to work.
However, for some people this smartphone is just out of their reach, and so Sony decided to give us the option of the cheaper Xperia ZL. We’ve already seen several Sony Xperia ZL reviews that do not take too kindly to this alternative, because while it shares the same features as its sibling, the design is a step too far.
We say this because the Z like we said above is a beautiful design, whereas the ZL has cut a few corners, which are picked up in its lackluster design. To gain more of an insight there’s nothing better than viewing a Sony Xperia ZL review video.
Today we have a trio of Sony Xperia ZL review videos, although one is an unboxing to build you up to the other reviews. The ZL unboxing video can be viewed above, while the other two are below.
It’s the same guy doing the first Sony Xperia ZL review as in the unboxing video, so must have been done directly after. He goes through the hardware similarities as the Xperia Z, and also picks up on the fact that it is not as visually appealing.
The second Sony Xperia ZL in-depth review kicks things off by reminding us that the ZL is not water or dust resistant as its sibling. The video review first looks at the hardware and then moves to the software. Almost everything has been covered in this review, such as a speaker test, the clarity of the screen, quality of the camera and gaming performance.
So now you have a better understanding of the Sony Xperia ZL, will you choose this over the more impressive Sony Xperia Z? Don’t forget that the Z tablet is already up for pre-order.
