Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 Vs Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 review

Now that Sony has wowed the world with the unveil of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, most of you are probably wondering how the tablet compares against the best that Samsung currently has to offer.

We now give you that analysis, with a Sony Xperia Tablet Z2 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 review, comparing key specs with each other to give you the lowdown on which tablet is best for you.

Truth be told, both tablets are tailored for high-end use and if portability is essential for you, we have a feeling that you are going to love using the Xperia Tablet Z2.

Sony’s new tablet can currently boast that it is the thinnest 10.1-inch tablet in the world at the moment, measuring in at 0.25-inches or 6.4mm and weighing just 426g. In comparison, the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is a lot heavier at 753g concluding that the Xperia Tablet Z2 is a lot more easier to use with one hand.

In terms of hardware specs, both devices are actually matched pretty evenly. The Xperia Tablet Z2 processor has been upgraded with a 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, while the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is running on almost the exact same setup with a 2.3Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor instead.

Both have 3GB of RAM to utilize, both feature Adreno 330 graphics for gaming and both feature 8 megapixel rear cameras on the back, combined with 2 megapixel front cameras.

While the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 obviously boasts a bigger display than the Xperia Tablet Z2, this is also referenced with a higher resolution on Samsung’s device – a 2560 x 1600 resolution compared to the Xperia Tablet Z2 which supports a 1920 x 1200 resolution IPS display.

This shouldn’t be treated as a display advantage for Samsung though, as it looks like Sony’s display on the Xperia Tablet Z2 is still going to be just as sharp with no distinct differences between the two.

One area that the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 does shine though is memory, as it will come with 32GB of internal memory, compared to the Xperia Tablet Z2 which is just 16GB for the time being – both have the option of expanding via MicroSD card.

With the Xperia Tablet Z2 hitting shelves in March, you may start to realize that Sony’s tablet could be a force to be reckoned with – especially if it lands with a much cheaper price than the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2.
