Sony Xperia Tablet Z one-ups iPad 4

Last week news of a Sony Xperia Tablet Z tablet came to light, although the source had to later pull this information. However, earlier today in Japan Sony finally made the device official, and looking at the Sony Xperia Tablet Z it one-ups the iPad 4 because it’s waterproof and also thinner as well.

Those who like the design of the Sony Xperia Z smartphone will also like the tablet as a perfect companion because they both have the same design. Sony Mobile Japan reports that the 10.1-inch tablet will come loaded with the latest version of Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and will be powered by an impressive 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, and 2GB of RAM. There will be some people who will not be happy about the limited 32GB of storage, but this is not an issue when you consider there is microSD expansion.

There shouldn’t be any need for a sound dock because the Sony Xperia Tablet Z boasts Sony’s virtual surround sound called S-Force, and being as it is waterproof and dustproof you would assume that this would add to the bulk, but like we said the new tablet is thinner than the iPad 4.

However, there is a fear in regards to battery longevity because the Xperia Tablet Z comes with a 6,000mAh battery, which is not as impressive as other tablets on the market. Sony needs to get clever here and try not to out price themselves, we know that the Xperia Tablet Z looks to be a premium device, but the price cannot reelect this and needs to be cheaper than the current iPad 4.
