Sony virtual reality prototype GDC unveil

Talk of Sony unveiling a prototype of their virtual reality headset has intensified with new sources reinforcing the validity of the rumors being talked about. This new gaming experience would work in tandem with the PlayStation 4, also creating a fresh rival for Oculus Rift.

Sony’s panel at the Game Developer Conference is now strongly expected to raise the curtains on their virtual reality device, bringing a whole new dimension to home gaming. Sony’s presentation is happening on March 18th where they claim they will be driving the future of innovation. The Edge claims that developers in the know with technology have confirmed the arrival of the PS4 VRH.

We have seen the waves that Kickstarter funded Oculus Rift has made in virtual reality to understand how huge of a game changer this technology could be. Oculus Rift has been used at the Game of Thrones exhibition, giving a 4D perspective of beyond the wall. This experience in a video game environment would be amazing, with players getting a step closer to being inside the game.

What we are likely to see from Sony will be a prototype rather than the finished product, do not expect these virtual reality headsets to be hitting shelves right away. There is a chance we could get a launch indication but there will still be lots of work needing to be done before these gaming gems are ready to ship.

Are you excited about the prospect of Sony introducing their virtual reality headset to the world?
