Sony VAIO series get a makeover for 2012

Away from the offerings from Apple, laptops from rival company Sony are often held in high regard by consumers and critics alike. Now in time for 2012 the Sony Vaio range of laptops are to get a makeover.

The company has announced its updated Vaio notebooks that will be available in the spring, and while provide a number of new options for users to choose from. These includes some of the range getting new colors and styles, while according to a report on SlashGear the Z series will have a new carbon fiber look, which also has the option of LTE connectivity.

It will also receive new Intel Core processor choices with the i5 and i7 options, and pricing will start at $1949.99 and includes the Power Media Dock drive. Meanwhile the S series is not being left out of the upgrades and will also get the new processors in both the 13 and 15-inch models. They will also get Radeon HD 6470M or 6630M GPUs for the graphics.

The display on the 15-inch model will feature 1920 x 1080 resolution with IPS technology, and starts at $979.99 with a Core i5 processor. The smaller model begins at $799.99, and both models are meant to be available next month.

If you like your bright colors the C series has a new style that includes the Kaleidoscope Pink color, which also has a special pattern on the lid. If pink is not your color of choice there is also the Geometric Black model that features the same pattern, and it will also come with a free laptop sleeve.
